Suspected hazardous floating object

June 29, 2016 By great Leave a Comment

Yell Update: Yesterday evening Dover Lifeboat was entrusted under the command of our Second Coxswain Jon Miell to look for a believed unsafe drifting item in the English Channel reported by a cross Stations Ferryboat driver. We launched on solution at 18:50 right into the strait to execute an increasing box search yet consequently absolutely nothing was spotted and the search deemed inconclusive. Dover Lifeboat returned to terminal at roughly 22:30. Things in the stations posture a terrific danger to navigation as well as shipping, the strait is the busiest shipping lane worldwide with over 500 vessels travelling through each day. Well done to our staff for a well co-ordinated search
